This was my last little "hoo-rah" project before I left Austin for NYC. It was a blast to produce and - after Gizmodo picked it up - it earned me my first Vimeo Staff Pick!
This was an event I designed to work much like a 48-hour film fest where all the participants would only have a weekend to create something. This was the second big event that the Austin Motion Artists Group (AMAG - which I organized with co-creator Ryan Padgett) hosted.
The project worked like as an animated Exquisite Corpse where artists were given key style frames at the beginning and end of each of their 12 second segments of a song. So where Artist 1 had frames A & B and Artist 2 had frames B & C, their sections could stitched together seamlessly on the matching frame.
I'm incredibly grateful to The Octopus Project for being such gracious collaborators on the project and to all the animators who spent a whole weekend making something with AMAG.
